I'm about to get on a flight. I missed
last night's 30 Rock and The Office. So I fire up my iTunes to see
if I can download it before I get out of town.
No luck.
I've got a bit of a delay, so I wander through the online store. Much to my surprise, I see the new episodes listed in the store. So I figure I'd check to see if they were available to download as pat of my season pass. No love.
I really want to see those episodes. Really badly. I figure that I saved a bunch of money last night running in to Drew at Mai House... I can spend the $4 to get the episodes now so I can watch them on my flight.
I click to buy... and then I get this:

Are you kidding me? Thanks for treating us season pass holders like second rate citizens. We should get the stuff earlier since we paid for it earlier!
Oh, and if anyone would like to steal these shows without paying for them, I recommend visiting TV RSS

Track Day: Friday, April 13th

Cars
It begins... Again.
I've picked up a Porsche 911 GT3 from Porsche of Huntington. I'm wasting no time in heading to the track. The New York Chapter of the BMW Car Club of America will be holding a Driver's Education track event at Pocono International Raceway on Friday, April 13th. It's open to all cars and you don't need to be a club member to come. Adam, Demetri, Jordan, Chris, Thom and I are already confirmed to attend. Even Pchop will be there. (I know he'll be there!)

You Know You Want To Come!
This is a great event for first-time track drivers. It's an easy drive to Pocono. We can all caravan together and share garages when we get there. The BMW Club runs a great, safe event. Lots of instructors will be on hand. It'll be very chill and no pressure. You don't need any special equipment. You just need working seat belts and to pass a simple safety inspection before the event and then that day at the track. We can roll home at the end of the day, have a great dinner and then hit Miracle Mile on Saturday with filthy, decal'd cars fresh from the track. C'mon, you know you want to!

How Do I Join In All This Fun?
In order to participate in the event, you need to do 3 things:
· Register Online at MotorsportReg.com (It's $200 for the day for non-BMW Club members)
· Have your car inspected at RPM Racing, Habberstad BMW or Porsche of Huntington (I think this is free and takes about 15 minutes.)
· Bring a long-sleeve shirt, long pants (jeans are fine) and closed shoes (like sneakers)
Optionally, you should think about:
· Getting a helmet that's SNELL 2000 or 2005, SA or M rated. (They have loaners, but you should buy your own anyway)
· Getting a Halotron Fireextinguisher. (Mounted with a metal-to-metal bracket)

More Information
We'll be driving the Pocono North course, pictured above. It's a 1.5 mile long course with 9 turns and a 1,700ft back straight into the NASCAR bowl. If you want to talk more about the specifics, just call Demetri at +1 (631) 418 3260.
Was it worth it?

I'm not a huge Lord of the Rings fan.
I am a huge Tesla coil fan.
Here's a reproduction of the Eye of Sauron reproduced by a Tesla coil.

Anyone got any info on where this pic came from?

Evita, London 2007

Have you ever noticed that every time
you see Evita, the actress is really just doing her
impression of Patti Lupone's Eva
Peron? Well, much to my surprise, Elena Roger performed wonderfully as Eva and
truly made the role her own. Yes, I'm a big fan of the classic
Lupone rendition, however Elena Roger truly gives us something unique and
wonderful.
Of course, the leading men were fantastic, too. Matt Rawle and Philip Quast as Che and Peron, respectively, were wonderful and performed wonderfully along side Elena. However to my "colonial" ears, their very pronounced British accents were a tad distracting.

Roy’s Guide to a London Weekend

News

Recently (as in, an hour from now) I had to take a very last minute trip to London. I’ve been to London several times and I truly enjoy it. It’s a fantastic city. So much to see. So different. So comfortable.
Roy knows how to shop. Believe me. For a hetero-sexual man, he's got fantastic taste and knows how to spend a few quid.
I called him and said, "I'm leaving for London in 3 hours. I'm staying at the St. Martin's Lane. What should I do while I'm here" He replied with this list.
First of all, you have a great concierge. Use them. Good for just about everything, very friendly. They can get you into dinners, plays or anything else. Tip twenty pounds or so when you leave.
Shopping
- St. Martin’s Accessories - Car Models. Located across the street from the hotel. Closed Sunday.
- Motorbooks International - Car Books. Across the street from the hotel and one block north, down the alley in the middle of the block.
- John Pearse - Tailor. Meard Street Soho. This is my rock and roll tailor with the narrow handpainted ties and cool shirts. Tell them you are my friend.
- Henri Llloyd - Sailing and Casual Sportswear. Carnaby Street. Exclusive carry the Oracle BMW collection. But great casual wear.
- Connolly - Leather goods. Conduit Street. They make the seats your Rolls. Also great gloves, jackets and other accessories.
- Harvey Nichols - Department Store. This store is located a block away from Harrods. It is the Bergdorf Goodmans of London. Hip men’s stuff in the basement, cool women’s stuff throughout the store.
- Bill Amberg - Leather. Located in Notting Hill. This is the new generation of London leather bags, belts and accessories.
- J.G. Cleaverly - Shoes. Handmade shoes. Argued the best in London. Also some off the rack. Located in one of the “arcades” right off of Bond Street and Saville row (might be the Burlington Arcade).
Guides
- Time Out Weekly London - Buy it here or at either airport. List what bands are playing, what clubs are hot, what plays are cool.
- British GQ - Not the same as US, good guide of very interesting stuff throughout London.
Food
- Nobu London - If you want to go, call your contact. You know what to do!
- Yo! Sushi - If you make it to Harvey Nichols, go to the food hall on the top of store. It's conveyor belt sushi bar on the roof. A ton of fun.
A Few Other Things...
- Tate Modern - Unbelievable Museum. No museum in the world like this space. Also check out if anything good on at the Serpentine in Hyde Park and Royal Academy.
- Pret Manager - Sandwiches. All over the place. Way better than in 'merica.
- Itsu - Sushi. Down by Brompton Cross in South Kensington on the corner of Walton Street.
- Wagamma - Noodle Bar. All over the place. There's one near St. Martin's Lane and in Harvey Nichols.
- Josephs - Men's Store. South Kensington
- Selfridges - Men's Store. South Kensington.
- Paul Smith - Men's Store. Nottinghill Gate
Walk the Kings Road - start at Sloane Square and walk down to Bluebird Cafe (have a coffee). Shops along the way. For you and Keri. Tell them at the Bluebird you want to see the Club for possible membership - all about the Bluebird Car!!!
